Game not running on Windows 8.1

Whats up guys. You see, some pals want to play this game again, I've installed it in 2 computers (Win7 and Win10) ok, no problem; but for some reason I'm not able to make it run on Win8.1 (It pops up the "Windows LIVE blah blah" issue). Is there some special consideration to install it on that OS that I've missed? As far as I can see, the problem doesn't solve by installing Games for windows live (There's no need for it) so I'm out of ideas.
