One can only play mods, hacks, cheats in a custom game or server with a gametype that has the name hacks, cheats, mods, glitches somewhere in the gametypes name. That's the only way to play online with mods, 3rd person, external tools that aren't stock features for the game or project...

Go to C:\Users\"yourusername"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Halo 2 Search for Halo2config . ini Look for the second d3dex (towards the bottom mid section) and change the 1 to a 0 So it'll look something like d3dex = 0 Then save the file and try opening Halo 2

What kind of hardware do you have? If you're using Intel then yes there are some issues with intel. try updating your driver's, windows and if possible use a dedicated GPU.

I'm assuming Comcast? Your internet provider is probably blocking you from playing the game. Try allowing it in your modems security protection area and try opening ports 2000-2010 TCP and UDP, and if all else fails you can contact your ISP and get them to unblock it.
