Update with error 09-11-2024

Greetings to everyone, the game was working fine, I exited and after a while I re-entered, it asked me to update, I did it and when I entered a game everything appeared black, I have tried to enter several games but without any success, in all of them, the screen appears black.

It was super good until the update, I have windows 11 pro 24h2.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hello, after monitoring the logs and file integrity, I realized that the file that causes the conflict is "xlive.dll", when replacing it with the aversion file before the update the screen already shows the graphics.

I see that in the update they added split screen among other things, what do I do? Can I keep the previous DLL? or is it mandatory to have it updated?

You'll need to go to your h2config1.ini file in %localappdata%/microsoft/halo 2 and change force_off_sm3 = true

Oh my God, thank you very much, it worked perfectly for me, I don't know how you know so much to go right to the point of the error but thank you very much, I hope if others have the same error this helps them.

Next hotfix should address this automatically. AMD cards do patches in their driver that break the game with SM3. We weren't able to detect all of them automatically before.
